Program
When to arrive
Registration starts at The Southport School from 2 pm on Wednesday 29 December. Once registered, you can settle into your accommodation (we can transfer you to your budget accommodation at Keebra Park SHS if that’s where you’re staying). We need you to be registered by 6 pm; please contact us if you’re going to arrive outside these times.
When to leave
NCYC officially finishes before lunch on Tuesday 4 January. So you’ll need your own lunch that day or you can purchase from the sausage sizzle or other vendors.
Keynote speakers
Gillian Best will be joining us, all the way from Northern Ireland to share her passion and learnings from ministry and mission.
Christopher Wayne, Australian Christian Magician will be joining us throughout the week to entertain and inspire.
Bands including Remember Seven, SCAT, Sondra, Adam Cousens Band and Angels Voice Band will all share some of their story, their mission and their music.
New Year’s Eve
For the first time in NCYC history, ncyc11 will feature a massive New Year’s Eve celebration. We’ve got a huge multicultural festival planned to turn up all your senses and of course… a great view of fireworks by the Nerang River! New Year’s Day will take on a more acoustic, unplugged feel to set the tone for 2011.
Bible studies
We have some experienced and inspirational leaders in place to lead our Bible studies at ncyc11. Following on from NCYC 09, attendees can again choose the entry point for the Bible study they will participate in: “surfing”, “snorkeling”, or “scuba diving”.
Small groups
Small groups are a great way for individuals to get to know other people outside their tour group or usual friends. But most importantly, small groups are one of the key places where we care for each other and stay in touch with how we’re responding to the challenges and triumphs of ncyc11.
Submersions
Submersions will take place on Sunday of ncyc11. They’re an opportunity for attendees to put faith into action with a practical mission activity. From learning about experiences from another’s point of view, to service and advocacy opportunities, submersions are often an NCYC highlight for many people.
2 ‘til 6
A range of cool activities will be available to choose from during these afternoon times of ncyc11. 2 ‘til 6 is where electives, workshops, free time, sport, story telling and more happens. Just some of the ideas so far include a soccer tournament, public art space, current issue panel discussions, café chillax, hip hop freestyle arena… and heaps more to come.
Nightlife
A really vibed or relaxed time – you choose the energy level, with music, cafe, dancing, hangout and NCYC’s GOT TALENT. Share your talent and you and your group could win a Wii!
