Worship
9 NEW worship songs being launched at ncyc11. Check ‘em out here.
Megan Thompson is coordinating worship at ncyc11 and has some great visions for how she sees it growing and impacting everyone who attends. These are her thoughts:
“Most of us have experienced worship that is exciting, moving, entertaining, boring, connecting, peaceful, or exhilarating at various times. Worship at ncyc11 will be many of those things to the attendees (though hopefully not too boring!!). We are all uniquely wondrous creations who connect with God in different ways, so the worship team is planning a variety of opportunities for that connection to flow.
“The evening worship times at ncyc11 will be the only time in the day when the whole convention gathers under one roof. The planning team recognise the immensity of the task ahead of us and are already well underway with big, loud ideas working their way down the wires towards those speakers for all to experience!”
Music @ ncyc11
“Music is a universal language that can transcend language and cultural boundaries. I hope that we can use music effectively to do so at ncyc11—you’ll have to come along to experience it!
“Favourite music takes us back to precious times and places. But God doesn’t ask us to live in the past. Our Living God calls us to be members of a heavenly ensemble here and now, leading people in hope and love to meet the greatest conductor we will ever know.”
For each NCYC, new music has been created. ncyc11 will be the first time that this all happens online. Composers can submit recording and music sheets, peers can listen and give feedback and attendees and local worship leaders can see what’s on offer.
It’s all happening here. Composers, please submit your music by 6 September 2010 to be considered for use in worship at ncyc11. (This will give musos time to learn and practise the music.)
“The website with up and downloadable material will be an excellent forum for delegates and their congregations to prepare for and follow up from convention. I encourage all songwriters to visit it soon and share their creations. This is a great way for everyone to contribute to worship at ncyc11. I encourage music leaders within congregations to visit it to learn new songs and let us know which ones work well in their settings.
“I’m looking forward to sharing the very best mix of it all at ncyc11 worship times! What a foretaste of heaven divine it will be. : ) See you there!”
